The world of mechanical keyboards is vast, especially when it comes to gaming mechanical keyboards. There are many options out there, each with its own unique options. Corsair happens to be one of the top brands for mechanical keyboards, offering decent quality at not-so-crazy prices. Now, the company has just launched the K70 Core, its latest keyboard, and there is a lot of stuff to highlight here.
Corsair has unveiled its latest gaming keyboard, the K70 Core. There are two main features to highlight, but mainly, we need to talk about the new MLX Red linear mechanical switches. Corsair says that the K70 CORE promises a refined and satisfying typing experience with these switches. It’s the first time Corsair has gone with its own switches designed in-house — in all of its other keyboards, Corsair uses standard, run-of-the-mill Cherry switches. They’re fine, and they’re among the top choices out there for several reasons, but if you want to customize and make small changes to how the switches work, you kind of need to take matters into your own hands, which is what Corsair is doing here.
These ultra-responsive switches are pre-lubricated to ensure smooth keypresses and are constructed to minimize stem wobble, catering to both keyboard enthusiasts and gamers. The keyboard also features premium sound-dampening foam layers around the switches, eliminating disruptive noise and enhancing the overall gaming experience. It’s not clear if Corsair will use these switches going forward on all its new keyboards or if it’ll keep using Cherry on some models, but we’ll definitely see them more often. The first thoughts about the switches on early reviews are promising.
The K70 Core also offers some impressive customization options. It boasts a multi-function rotary dial that can adjust RGB brightness, scroll through webpages, and zoom, alongside a programmable button for media control. The Corsair iCUE software allows users to personalize the keyboard further, enabling customization of per-key RGB backlighting, programming macros, and remapping keys, just like it’s useful for all other Corsair hardware.
The K70 Core is now available for purchase through the Corsair store and authorized online retailers and distributors worldwide, so make sure to get yours now.
